The opportunity

Working within the Supportive Care division, this position is responsible for providing leadership and coordination of the Statewide Support Services team, ensuring effective, efficient and safe service provision.

You will support the Cancer Support Services Manager in developing and implementing operational plans, program reviews, and improvement, as well as potential new programs and services to meet the needs of people impacted by cancer.

Based in Subiaco, the position is part-time (0.7 FTE).

What you’ll be doing:

  • Coordinating services and programs in accordance with Cancer Council WA’s vision, purpose, values and strategic objectives.
  • Supervising the workflow of the Statewide Support Services team.
  • Assisting the Cancer Support Services Manager to undertake and organise development of staff to ensure that all staff are adequately trained.
  • Building strong and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Preparing and producing accurate and concise reports in a timely fashion at the request of the Cancer Support Services Manager.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in health or health-related field (desirable)
  • Ability to provide leadership within a multi-disciplinary team framework
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and report writing.
  • High level relationship management skills
  • Strong strategic and problem-solving skills
  • High level organisation skills and ability to work under pressure with demonstrated ability to lead and work on multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Demonstrated experience supervising staff (desirable)
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values of Cancer Council WA
  • Positive approach to the workplace
