The opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated, organised Grants Administration Project Officer with strong attention to detail to join our Cancer Prevention and Research division.
In this role, you will work alongside our Research Funding Program team to operate and maintain the online grants management system, oversee the processing of research applications, and contribute to the evaluation of the Cancer Council WA Research Funding Program.
Based in Subiaco, this position is full-time, fixed term until January 2028.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting the development and delivery of timelines and processes through the grants management system.
- Maintaining accurate records of confidential grant applications, approvals, and funding distributions.
- Monitoring grant compliance and reporting requirements.
- Supporting the Research Funding Program team with relevant website content updates and communications with applicants and committees.
- Assisting the Research Funding Program team with program evaluations and reporting requirements.
- Administering the Research Funding Program agreements, acquittals, and other governance documentation.
- Implementing special projects and administrative duties as directed by the Research & Projects Manager.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Exceptional organisational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities to tight deadlines, and demonstrating a high level of attention to detail.
- High standard of proficiency in the use of Microsoft software packages and demonstrated aptitude and ability to develop spreadsheets and databases.
- Well-developed communication skills, including interpersonal, verbal and written reports.
- Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and as a member of a team.
- Experience in research grant management/grant administration and demonstrated ability maintaining accurate records and data integrity (desirable).
- Demonstrated experience in grant management software and other planning/project management tools (desirable).
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent competency (desirable).
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values of Cancer Council WA
