The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an Alcohol Policy and Research Coordinator to join our Alcohol Programs team. A key focus of this position is supporting the planning and delivery of research projects and translation activities related to preventing harm from alcohol.

Based in Subiaco, this position is part-time (0.7 FTE) and fixed-term until July 2027. Requests for additional hours may be considered, please state your preference within your application.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support commissioned, internally-led and externally-led research projects to inform and progress alcohol policy priorities.
  • Lead the development and implementation of plans to support the translation of research into alcohol policy action.
  • Conduct audits of advertising on local government assets.
  • Proactively engage and maintain relationships with key stakeholders that encourage quality outcomes for alcohol prevention strategies (e.g. external researchers, partner organisations).
  • Represent Cancer Council WA at meetings, seminars and other events.

About you

  • A tertiary qualification in a health-related field.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in developing and delivery of public health research, programs or campaigns.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and referencing software.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and report writing.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of health research methods will be well-regarded.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values of Cancer Council WA
